Assassin’s Creed Mirage Set to Launch on Steam This Month

In a surprising move, Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will soon be available on Steam. After its initial release in October 2023 on Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store, Steam users have eagerly awaited this launch. The game, which returns to the stealth-action roots of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, will be available to purchase on Steam by the end of October.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage transports players to 9th-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age. Players assume the role of Basim Ibn Ishaq, a character first introduced in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. In Mirage, Basim transitions from a street thief to an assassin fighting against the Templar Order.

Ubisoft’s Strategy Shift

Ubisoft’s decision to release Mirage on Steam aligns with its recent shift in strategy, following the underperformance of Star Wars Outlaws. According to Ubisoft’s social media announcement, this is part of their broader plan to bring future titles to Steam on day one. Ubisoft’s previous release, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, is also expected to hit Steam upon its release in February 2025.

The Steam version of Mirage will feature platform-specific perks like Steam achievements but will also require a Ubisoft Connect account and include Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM. Fans can add the game to their wishlists as they await its official launch.
