Gamescom, one of the largest gaming events in Europe starts on August 22 in Cologne, Germany. Many hardware vendors as well as game companies will also be present to show off their latest projects. One of these, is the latest Assassin’s Creed Origins which is set in Egypt. The latest installment has a much longer development time than any title in the series. As the new cinematic trailer shows, it is not short on action or violence. The art direction is also quite breathe taking. Like previous Assassin’s Creed titles, the creative team poured in lots of effort in getting period-correct details so the world looks very authentic.
A few days ago, the developers showed off the new combat system which is drastically different from previous AC games. While that video gave gamers a preview of what to expect in terms of gameplay, the new cinematic trailer shows off what kind of tone the story will take. The actual release date is not set until November 13, so fans can expect more preview videos and information to trickle out closer to that date.
Other than Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft will be giving preview demos of Southpark: Fractured But Whole, and the Crew 2. Attendees can also compete in For Honor and Rainbow Six Seige competitions. This year’s Gamescom is expected to be the largest yet, with over 900 exhibitors attending.
