Assassin’s Creed Overhaul 2016 Mod Released

The original Assassin’s Creed was a fantastic game when it was released, it was something fairly new and exciting and while it was far from perfect, it’s the one that kicked off a huge franchise for Ubisoft. Talented modder ‘hecumarine’ has just released a new texture pack for the game that started it all, and the ‘Assassin’s Creed Overhaul 2016’ mod gives the game improved graphics, new particle effects, NPC skins, effects, shaders and more!

The idea of the mod was the use the textures from Assassin’s Creed Revelations, patching them in where possible to improve the fidelity of the original, which is starting to show its age with its 256×256 texture resolution.

“Experience the first Assassin’s Creed through the eyes of Altaïr ibn La-Ahad with completely different visuals, graphics, changed particles, different npc skins , effects and shaders injector that is included in the package. This mod does not contain new sound effects , sound replacements and new scripts…. yet (I’m still trying to figure out how to do that). The goal of this mod is to change most textures from original ACI to those from Assassin’s Creed Revelations, so you will feel like you’re playing Altair memories in Revelations rather than in old ACI from 2007. Improved particles, especially smoke and fire
Texture resolution doubled. From 256×256 to 512×512 and 512×512 to 1024×1024
Color correction improved further
Some texture fixes
Improvements of all cities including additional textures
Facial textures and outfits of important characters improved
Generic npcs improved including guards and citizens
