Assassin’s Creed Shadows Sells More Physical Copies in One Week Than Star Wars: Outlaws in Three Months
According to data from GfK/Nielsen, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has achieved impressive sales numbers in the UK’s physical games market. In just one week, it sold more copies than Star Wars: Outlaws managed in three months—a notable comparison, given that both games are published by Ubisoft.
Impressive Sales, But Star Wars: Outlaws Didn’t Perform Well
While comparing the two games might not seem fair, considering Star Wars: Outlaws was a commercial failure for Ubisoft, the success of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is still noteworthy. The game’s launch has been outstanding in other aspects as well. For example, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has already surpassed the sales of Monster Hunter Wilds in the UK, making it the best-selling game of 2025 so far in terms of physical copies.
Sales Numbers Compared to Valhalla
Despite the great start, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has sold 63% of the copies that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla sold in the UK back in November 2020. While this number may seem lower, it’s important to note that Valhalla was a cross-gen game, released on multiple platforms, and launched during the COVID-19 pandemic when game sales were much higher than usual.
Currently, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is also the most-played game in the series on Steam, reaching a peak of concurrent players and topping the weekly sales chart on the platform.
