ASTRO A10
I’m a big fan of ASTRO headsets, and over the years here at eTeknix I think I’ve personally reviewed every headset they have made. Some clear favourites are certainly the A50 Wireless, the A50 Multi-Format, A40 + M80 Amp, and my own personal favourite, the A40 TR Pro. I’ve been using the TR headset day-to-day for work and gaming for the last two years. With that in mind, I’d say I’m pretty familiar with Astro’s performance.
The First Affordable Headset From ASTRO
There’s one key fact to remember here. ASTRO headsets typically cost well over £100. They’re not the most consumer friendly in terms of price, but they’ve certainly got the build quality and performance to command good money. Now they’re launching their new A10 headset, and this is a big deal, as it only costs £55! Has the headset lost what made ASTRO great in the first place? Have they made too many sacrifices? Accessories
The headset comes bundled with a rubber sleeve 3.5mm 4-pole to 3.5mm 5-pole cable, which has a built-in volume control wheel on the cable. The design is the same as the higher end headsets, albeit the mute button is now a volume wheel.
The model I am reviewing was also sent with an ASTRO PC Splitter. This takes the stock cable and separates the headset and microphone channel. Of course, this makes the connection to a PC much easier.
