I’ve reviewed so many headsets over the years that I’ve long since lost count of them all. However, a few reviews really stand out tall amongst the many I have done, and that’s anything by Astro. Time and time again they’ve delivered some of the finest sounding gaming headsets money can buy, and I’m very much looking forward to trying out their new A20 Wireless model.
Of course, this isn’t their most high-end headset ever, and it’s unlikely to replace the Wireless A50 or the lovely A40 TR, the latter of which I’ve been using as my daily headset for around two years now. However, can it come close to their level of features and performance at a more reasonable price tag? I certainly hope so! It’s also a nice upgrade from the current A10 wired headset which we reviewed a few months back.
The headset is available in a few editions, covering Xbox, PlayStation, PC and some cool CoD designs too. We’ve got the PS4/PC/Mac headset in for review today, which suits us just nicely, as I can test it from my desk.

In the box, you’ll get the headset, obviously. However, you also get this neat little box of tricks to deal with the wireless features. There’s none of that cheap USB dongle stuff going on here, as you can run the headset through optical for high-quality audio. There are two USB cables included too, one for powering the wireless hub, the other for charging the headsets internal battery. Don’t worry though, with 15 hours+ battery life, you’ll not be leaping for the charger too often.
