Astro A50 Wireless Xbox One Gaming Headset Review

Performance
As I’ve said before, any other Astro headset I’ve tested has been exceptional in terms of performance and I’m very happy to report that the A50 Xbox One edition is no exception to this. The headset may be designed for gaming, or at least that’s how it is advertised, but this is a rock solid all round performer.
Music sounds fantastic, with rich bass that is distortion free and full of detail. There’s a slight warmth to the mid tones that really brings out a lot of detail in any kind of music and treble is very natural sounding, giving a lot of fidelity to vocal tracks, high-hats, etc. I’ve found myself testing this headset far longer than I would with most other headsets, simply because I love how great it sounds and it’ll certainly appeal to those who love to listen to a lot of music.
Gaming performance is best in class, I’ve yet to hear anything that even comes close in terms of Xbox One headsets, and that includes wired solutions. Game audio sounds great no matter what you’re playing and the Dolby mode adds a lot of spatial awareness that really brings games like Battlefield to life, especially in multiplayer, as you hear exactly where your enemies are coming from.
The microphone performance is, you guessed it, excellent! Clear audio through the microphone and natural sounding voice for team chat, with the added bonus that you can quickly adjust the levels of the game and chat audio to best suit your needs.
