We could bring the tease not long ago, that ASUS was working on a special limited edition GTX 980 for their 20th anniversary. That hard has finally been presented, and it looks like one amazing graphics card. It is the fastest GTX 980 card on the market and comes packed with just the best of features.
So let’s dive right into what the card has on features and we’re starting with the cooler. The Gold themed DirectCU II cooler has 10mm heatpipes and comes with 0dB fan technology that only spins up the fans when they’re needed. It also runs 15% cooler with three times quieter than a reference card. The DIGI+ VRM and 14-phase Super Alloy Power provide 30%-less power noise and five times greater durability and the Japanese-made 10K black-metallic capacitors also provide five times longer lifetime and 20% better temperature endurance.
The Memory Defroster is an instant defrost that lets you say goodbye to cold bugs. The Safe Mode allows you to reload your Video BIOS with just one press of a button while the Color-coded Load Indicator will allow you to see how your card is doing at-a-glance.
Now let’s get down to the specifications. The ASUS 20th Anniversary card has a base clock of 1317 MHz and a Boost clock of 1431. The 2048 CUDA cores GTX 980 has 4GB of 7GHz memory to worth with. All that performance also needs some power and the card has two 8-pin PCIe connectors to provide the up to 375W the card can draw.
The gold theme isn’t just applied to the top, the backplate features the same and it looks great.
Included in the package is also a GOLD 20th Mouse Pad as a bonus, but they didn’t show how that looks yet.
The information was released before the 1st, so this isn’t an April fools’ joke. Sadly no word on pricing or availability yet.
