ASUS Announces R9 270 DirectCU II Graphics Card

ASUS have announced the launch of their R9 270 DirectCU II, a new graphics card powered by the latest AMD Radeon R9 270 graphics-processing unit (GPU). R9 270 is equipped with loads of exclusive ASUS technologies and tools including their ever popular DirectCU II cooler which has proven time and time again to be cool and quiet, Super Alloy Power components for vastly improved longevity and GPU Tweak, an easy-to-use software tool that allows users to squeeze more performance out of the GPU.

As an ASUS overclocked-edition card, R9 270 is overclocked to perform faster than reference with a 975MHz core speed and reaching the 104% level in 3DMark.

R9 270 has a unique advantage in the shape of DirectCU II, which puts highly-conductive copper cooling pipes in direct contact with a card’s GPU so heat is dissipated quickly and with extreme efficiency.

R9 270 is constructed using exclusive Super Alloy Power components. Solid-state capacitors, concrete-core chokes and hardened MOSFETs are all designed to withstand much greater stress with the application of specially-formulated materials. Super Alloy Power technology also reduces power noise such as buzzing and increases the graphics card’s longevity — R9 270’s capacitors last up to two-and-a-half times (2.5X) longer than traditional capacitors.

The new ASUS R9 270 has a unique advantage in the shape of GPU Tweak, an exclusive ASUS tool that helps users to squeeze every last drop of performance out of the Radeon R9 270 GPU. This includes the ability to control finely GPU and video-memory clock speeds and voltages, cooling-fan speeds and power-consumption thresholds in real time — so overclocking is both easy and can be carried out with high confidence.

As well, the GPU Tweak Streaming tool lets users share on-screen action over the internet in real time — so others can watch live as games are played. It’s even possible to add a title to the streaming window along with scrolling text, pictures and webcam images.

We actually got one of the first review for this GPU live yesterday morning, so if you want to know more about the card and how it performs, you can check out our full review right here.

Thank you Asus for providing us with this information.
