ASUS ROG has today announced its new ROG Strix Scar 17 X3D, the world’s first laptop to use the Ryzen 9 7945H-X3D chip with AMD 3D V-Cache technology.
The Ryzen 9 7945H-X3D which powers this laptop is in a league of its own, leveraging the power of AMD 3D V-Cache technology. This extension of high-speed L3 cache enables the 8-core processor to perform certain calculations quickly and efficiently, especially when it comes to gaming. When compared to a standard Ryzen 9 7945HX, this X3D variant is on average 20% faster across select titles. Casing this powerful processor is a 17-inch display with a 240 Hz QHD resolution powered by an RTX 4090 laptop GPU which also supports NVIDIA G-Sync for a tear-free gaming experience. Paired up with the CPU is 32GB of DDR5-4800 with a max capacity of 64GB as well as 2TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD.
Keeping this high-end hardware cool is the ROG Intelligent Cooling ecosystem keeping the laptop running at its A-Game. Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal has been applied to the GPU offering up to 17X better thermal conductivity against traditional paste. For cooling the rest, a full-cover vapor chamber provides next-level cooling performance to the CPU, GPU, VRMs and over important components with a 43% coverage of the motherboard.
The chassis features the classic ROG styling with an RGB-illuminated keyboard and underneath the laptop for an underglow effect. The I/O is robust with dual USB Type-C with dedicated HDMI 2.1 and 2.5G ethernet ports allowing this system to work fantastically alongside an external display. The laptop also features two USB 3.2 Type A ports and a 3.5mm combo audio jack.
