ASUS Cerberus Review – Full Setup For Under £100!

Final Thoughts

Price

All three products are priced very competitively, especially so given their features and overall performance. This is especially true for the mouse, which is the most affordable of the three and you’ll be hard pushed to find anything better for the same money.

Overview

I really like what ASUS have done here, creating a range of gaming peripherals that are not only kind to the wallet but actually offer competitive performance that exceeds their budget friendly price tag. The real star of the show, in my opinion, is the mouse. It’s extremely affordable but has the look and feel of a much that’s more expensive than it actually is. The performance of the optical sensor doesn’t disappoint one bit and the ergonomics are comfortable and well suited to a wide range of usage scenarios. The only strange thing is that despite the ambidextrous design, there are only buttons on the left side. This is hardly a deal-breaker for me, but left-handed users may want to look elsewhere.

The keyboard also offers good value for money, with its adjustable LED lighting that really adds some flair to you desktop, macro functions and dedicated multimedia keys that are great for controlling your music while gaming, or while doing any other task for that matter.

The headset does look a little cheap, and the use of some of the plastics does give it a cheaper feeling too, but on the plus side of this, it’s super lightweight. When wearing it for a few hours and gaming long into the night, it’s light enough to forget you’re wearing it and that’s obviously a good thing. The auto-adjusting headband means that younger and older gamers alike can just pop it on their head and be ready to rock with no fuss. There’s a basic in-line controller and a detachable boom mic, as well as support for playing on the PlayStation 4, Mac, PC, Mobile, etc. so it’s certainly got added value for money. What’s most important, however, is the sound quality. While the bass isn’t as heavy as some may like, it has a powerful and clear sound that’s fantastic for gaming and just as much fun for listen to music and movies, at home or on the go.

Pros

  • Good build quality
  • Nice aesthetics
  • Wallet-friendly prices
  • Competitive performance
  • LED lighting

Cons

  • Ambidextrous mouse only has one set of side buttons
  • Headset materials could be improved

“The Asus Cerberus range offers up three competitively priced peripherals, all with a great range of features and a matching black and red theme. While any of these products are great on their own, they make a great set and offer fantastic value for money for those looking for a complete desktop gaming setup.”
