Price
The ASUS Cerberus V2 Gaming Headset is available now at most major retailers. We found it in stock at Amazon for £59.99, which is certainly competitive. It’s a tough market right now, there are a lot of great headsets around this price range. However, it is a fair price given the overall performance and the build quality.
Overview
The latest Cerberus headset from ASUS is a big step up from their original Cerberus headset. The cost-saving approach of the old model was apparent in terms of the features, build quality and the overall design. However, ASUS has upped their game this time around. The Cerberus V2 is a huge upgrade in all regards. Of course, that is reflected in an increase in price.
The old model was around £30, which is half the price of the new one. However, I think this is at least twice the headset the original was, so it’s easily justified. The build quality alone is one of the biggest improvements. There’s a lot less plastic on this headset for starters. The new metal headband design is a lot stronger and lighter than the original. There are improvements to the padding too, and the interior headband is no longer just a bit of thick cloth. There are thick memory foam pads that will keep you comfortable even after a marathon gaming session. The ear cup padding is improved too, and it provides a comfortable fit around your ear. This padding also helps block a fair amount of external noise, while also locking in the sound from the drivers.
The 53mm drivers sound fantastic. They’re not precision audiophile drivers, but they were never going to be; not at this price range. They offer a punchy bass response and excellent clarity at all volume levels. I would have liked them to be a little bit louder, but they make up for that with a good amount of bass.
The design is fairly straight forward. However, the addition of a few red highlights, a black braided cable, and detachable microphones all add up to giving it a more premium look and feel.
Pros

Neutral
- Maximum volume could be higher, but it is loud enough
“The Cerberus are perfect for those looking for a great all-round gaming, movies and music, without spending a small fortune.”
