ASUS Introduces Phoenix GeForce GTX 1060 3GB Graphics Card

ASUS introduced a new graphics card for those building their system on a budget. The new GeForce GTX 1060 3GB Phoenix graphics card features a single fan cooling solution and a very compact size. While it is a small card, it is still a full-height card.

If the card design looks familiar to you, then it’s probably due to the previously released GeForce GTX 1050 version with a practically identical base-design. The Phoenix name might be familiar too, but from the competition. Gainward has graphics cards with the same name and the two shouldn’t be confused.

The card has been designed with low cost in mind and it only measures 18.3 cm in length. It combines a custom PCB-design that draws power from a single 6-pin PCI-E power connector with a simple monolithic aluminium fan-heatsink cooler. The copper core in the heatsink should ensure proper heat dissipation to the aluminium block with spirally-projecting fins. The fan is an 80mm dual-ball bearing fan.

Despite the small size, the card features plenty of connection. You get two DisplayPort and two HDMI connectors as well as a DVI connector. That should allow you to connect your monitors no matter their generation and connector standards.

As for the GPU, that is clocked at the Nvidia reference speeds which are a 1506 MHz base clock and a 1708 MHz turbo boost. The 3GB memory is GDDR5 which is clocked at 8 GHz. The 3GB version of the GTX 1060 features 1152 CUDA cores. You also get 72 TMUs and 48 ROPs from this card with a 192-bit memory bus width and 192 GB/s memory bandwidth.

ASUS didn’t reveal any pricing or availability date at this time.
