ASUS is announcing the launch of the VG275Q FreeSync gaming monitor to their lineup. This monitor is outfitted with a 27-inch 1920 x 1080 TN LED panel display. Although that does not sound impressive, the VG275Q FreeSync monitor gives up high-resolution for faster a response time. It has GameFast Input Technology for lag-free experience along with two low input lag HDMI 1.4a ports and one DisplayPort 1.2. This feature allows for super smooth visuals while and keeping the monitor hooked up to two devices. In addition, AMD FreeSync technology helps eliminate image tearing over HDMI input for smooth gameplay. This makes the VG275Q ideal for frame-sensitive and input lag-free competitive games such as Street Fighter.
The monitor can be rotated 90-degrees in portrait mode, aside from the normal landscape mode. It can be tilted down 5 degrees or up 33 degrees. The height can be adjusted up to 130mm and it can also pivot as well as swivel 90 degrees left or right. The ASUS VG275Q FreeSync monitor can also be wall-mounted with via a 100 x 100mm VESA mount at the rear.
ASUS is asking $300 for the gaming monitor, which is a lot for a 1920 x 1080 panel in 2017. While this may not appeal to casual gamers, competitive gamers will find the monitor useful. A low input lag and fast response time are essential in competitive fighting games for example, much more so than MOBA or strategy games.
