Asus Launches the GeForce GTX 980 Ti Strix Graphics Card

Set to become available for purchase this month, this great looking and powerful graphics card is the Asus GeForce GTX 980 Ti STRIX. As with most STRIX graphics cards, this one features improved performance when compared to its reference counterpart, as it boasts a GPU boost clock speed of up to 1291 MHz in gaming mode and 1317 MHz in OC mode. These figures enable a performance boost of up to 24% in Witcher 3, for example, and that’s definitely nothing to sneeze at. Furthermore, this card comes with original ASUS technologies such as DirectCU III with a triple-wing blade fan that ensures outstanding airflow for an experience that’s 30% cooler and 3 times quieter.

The STRIX GTX 980 Ti was created using ASUS’ Auto-Extreme technology, which is the industry’s first 100%-automated manufacturing process. It also includes Super Alloy Power II parts that reduce power loss while enhancing efficiency and decreasing buzzing sounds under load. The cooling system is composed of two 10mm heat pipes that touch directly on the GPU, as well as three fans with wing blades that were designed to provide a high amount of airflow and static pressure onto the heat sink.

The STRIX GTX 980 Ti has a 12+2-phase power design, which is vastly superior to the 8+2-phase design implemented on reference cards. It also comes with a strengthened backplate that limits the risk of PCB bending, and with a GPU-fortifier that offers reliable GPU protection. This graphics card is currently the quietest and coolest GTX 980 Ti on the market. Its cooling system and performance are good enough to justify a purchase, but that Strix LED with pulsating light effects is a definitely a deal sealer.
