ASUS Launches Low Profile RTX 3050 6GB BRK Series

There’s been a few Low Profile GPUs this generation including the first featuring triple fan designs and today ASUS is expanding that list albeit for the last generation and for a GPU that hasn’t seen much attention, the RTX 3050 6GB.
ASUS RTX 3050 6GB BRK
The RTX 3050 6GB is a cut down variant of the RTX 3050 which really should be called the RTX 3040. The card is an entry level offering which doesn’t offer much for gamers but its low power requirements of just 70W enable this card to launch with a smaller cooler and a lack of a dedicated power cable as it can run just off the PCIe power. This all adds up to a possible option for someone just needing a GPU for a small low power system one of these options is ASUS’ new RTX 3050 6GB BRK low profile GPU.
This GPU sports a fairly unremarkable low profile dual fan design that is more similar to the RTX 20 Series Dual design than the 30 series design, of course at a smaller size. This GPU will be available in both a non-OC variant and an OC Variant which features a clock speed of up to 1537 MHz. One thing that has been noted however is that these GPUs don’t appear to feature a low profile PCIe bracket which may be a dealbreaker for some. The card features 1x HDMI, 1x Display Port and 1x DVI.
- NVIDIA Ampere Streaming Multiprocessors: The all-new Ampere SM brings 2X the FP32 throughput and improved power efficiency.
- 2nd Generation RT Cores: Experience 2X the throughput of 1st gen RT Cores, plus concurrent RT and shading for a whole new level of ray-tracing performance.
- 3rd Generation Tensor Cores: Get up to 2X the throughput with structural sparsity and advanced AI algorithms such as DLSS. These cores deliver a massive boost in game performance and all-new AI capabilities.
- OC edition: Boost Clock 1537 MHz (OC Mode)/ 1507 MHz (Default Mode)
- IP5X dust resistance offers protection from particle ingress for better durability.
- Dual ball fan bearings can last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs.
- A 2-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis.
- Auto-Extreme technology uses automation to enhance reliability.
- GPU Tweak III provides intuitive performance tweaking, thermal controls, and system monitoring.
Pricing
As for pricing this card can be expected for somewhere in the range of £170-200 based upon current listings at sites such as Scan.co.uk including the full sized variant of this card and MSI’s Low Profile option.
