ASUS Launches the ROG Strix XG32VQR Curved HDR Monitor

32-inch WQHD 144Hz Gaming Display from ASUS

ASUS has revealed their latest gaming monitor addition to the ROG Strix family. This is the ROG Strix XG32VQR, a large 32-inch HDR monitor with an 1800R curvature. It sports a 2560 x 1440 WQHD resolution VA panel with refresh rates of up to 144Hz.

It is positioned to be at the “sweet-spot” for gamers, according to ASUS. That is catering to those who prefer the gaming speeds of TN panels, with colour accuracy closer to IPS. The XG32VQR supports Radeon FreeSync 2 HDR, and High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology.

It even boasts DCI-P3 94% professional color gamut and contrast performance for DisplayHDR 400 certification. Plus, the ROG Strix XG32VQR comes with ASUS’ Shadow Boost technology. This enhances detail in scenes with dark regions without over-exposing brighter areas.

Does it Have RGB LED?

Like most of ASUS’ monitors under the ROG Strix line, the XG32VQR comes with Aura Sync RGB support. That means users can synchronize the built-in RGB LEDs with other Aura Sync compatible products. On the XG32VQR, there is a rear halo at the back as well as a projected light at the base which emit RGB LED colours.

These are freely adjustable with the Aura Sync software. Although they also come with a dozen behavioural presets. This includes music reactive, CPU temperature indicator, color cycle and more.

How Much is the ROG Strix XG32VQR Monitor?

ASUS did not reveal the official pricing yet, although they have now put up the product page on their website. This monitor is intended to be a variant of the XG32VQ, which currently retails for $659 USD. The new ROG Strix XG32VQR of course, having HDR certification, so expect to pay a bit more when it starts shipping.
