Pricing, Conclusion and Final Thoughts
Pricing
ASUS Lyra AC2200 Home Wi-Fi System in this pack of 3 will set you back $285.39 in the US and £397.09 in the UK. That’s quite a difference which is good for US customers and not so good for those from the UK.
Easy Setup for Everyone
One of the great things about ASUS’ Lyra is that you don’t need a technology degree to set it up and use it. The simple approach makes it available to almost anyone. The times where mesh networks and advanced setups were limited to enterprises is long gone thanks to devices like the ones we’ve seen today.
The actual initialisation and the setup only take about 10 minutes, that’s all. You can continue to fine-tune settings, but you don’t need to.
Features
While things need to be easy, they also need to be secure. Lyra is protected malicious attach by built-in Trend Micro software. It doesn’t just help protect you from infections, it also prevents possible ones from communicating back to their owners. Parents, and other admins, get a good control over the user’s abilities, when they’re allowed to do what. That’s a bonus for any family that want’s their offspring to have a save web experience. ASUS also has the Lyra mobile app for Android and iOS mobiles for easy control and maintenance.
Performance
Lyra is is a tri-band router, but one of the bands is used for Lyra to Lyra communication. That still leaves you with a single band performance of up to 867 Mbps under optimal conditions. We saw a good performance today, not exceptional, but good. It is comparable with other devices of the same speed category, but offers a far better coverage.
