Last week Intel announced that it would no longer be investing in NUC products leaving the product line to other manufacturers to continue. Today Intel has agreed to a term sheet with ASUS to manufacture, sell and support the future of NUC systems.
ASUS To Manufacture NUC Products
In a press release, Intel revealed the plans for how the NUC product line will continue following their departure from Investment into the platform. The company has made an agreement with ASUS which will provide them with a non-exclusive license to Intel’s NUC systems product line designs which will enable them to produce and sell 10th to 13th Gen NUC systems as well as develop future designs. For this agreement, ASUS will establish a new business unit called ASUS NUC BU to provide support for NUC.
This is good news for the NUC platform with a reputable and mostly well-regarded company taking on the future endeavours of the platform.
