Looking a little closer at the media player itself, the first thing that is apparent is how compact it is. Measuring in at a mere 151mm x 106mm x 29mm, compact is one word for it. The entire body is made out of a black plastic with the lower portion having a matt finish. The top surface has a ridged effect, as can be seen in the photo below, with a gloss finish. The Asus and O!Play logos neatly finish this off.
On the front edge we find a single USB port and multi-format card reader for connecting drives and memory cards for content viewing on the big-screen. To the left hand side is an LED which goes from red when the unit is in standby to a soft blue glow when the unit is on. The larger circle to the right of the unit is for the IR receiver.
Turning the unit around we find more connections for input and output to A/V devices. Starting from the left we find a DC jack, Gigabit LAN, an eSATA & USB combo port, device reset, HDMI 1.3, 3.5mm A/V composite & optical out. Also nestled within the device is a wireless-n adaptor to allow for better flexibility in positioning within the home.
