Conclusion
So what do we think of this new Asus motherboard and the new 1156 socket? Well we can’t help but be impressed by the Asus P7P55D Evo, but that’s not surprising as Asus have been for many years a great motherboard manufacturer. They are always near the top most wanted list as they seem to produce very reliable, stable boards that are are backed up by an impressive 3 year warranty. Even by their normal standards this is a well thought out board with lots of little innovations that make working with it a joy. Gone are the days of fiddling with jumpers and spending hours diagnosing what component is causing the problem…. well almost! What about how it performs I hear you cry… well unfortunately we are unable to release benchmark info to you just yet, but if x58 Asus boards are anything to go by, performance on these new P55 chipset motherboards will be very impressive and there will be more than enough overclocking options to clock these new chips well. As for the new LGA-1156 socket, aside from Intel’s complete inability to see what such a small and unnecessary change will do to current and future aftermarket coolers, the new chipset and range of processors look very impressive. As long as the value and performance can match up to AMD, 2010 looks to be a good year for computer enthusiasts.
