Launched today, the Radeon HD 7800 Series of graphics card, also known as their GPU’s codename ‘Pitcairn’, will see from this today forth a lot of releases from different partners, whether it be a change of sticker, a change of cooler or a factory overclock, it’s basically the usual as always. Asus is one of those partners praised amongst the gaming community, and it doesn’t miss the chance to launch another DirectCu II TOP edition of this new series of graphics card.
The Radeon HD 7870 and HD 7850 DirectCu II TOP both sport the 2-slot variant of Asus’ coveted dual-fan cooler attached to what looks like a non-reference design PCB. The cooler consists of a mixture between a heatsink and an aluminium fin array from which the heat is dissipated through copper heat-pipes making direct contact with the die. To provide the airflow needed, two large fans are placed in position to adequately ventilate the card.
Additionally, being a TOP version, these two graphics card should also come with a 5-10% factory overclock right out of the box.
As of now, no word on the pricing.
