ASUS Prime X670E-Pro WiFi Motherboard Review

How Much Does It Cost?

The ASUS Prime X670E-Pro WiFi is available now from many big-name retailers, and we found it on Scan for just £369.98. I say “just” like it’s a cheap motherboard, I get that it is not, but keep in mind this is the flagship AMD chipset, with the latest AM5 socket, DDR5 support, PCIe 5.0 and more, so you’re getting a lot for your investment. Plus, when the performance was practically on par with the STRIX motherboards that can cost as much as double or even triple, I’d say the ASUS AMD Ryzen PRIME X670E-PRO WIFI AM5 DDR5 PCIe 5.0 ATX Motherboard is a deal that almost seems too good to be true.

Overview

I think ASUS have a lot to be proud of with their latest motherboard, and it fits the system I’ve always used when purchasing ASUS motherboards in the past. I look at the ROG XTREME and think “I want that motherboard” I start to save up some money, realise this I don’t want to spend nearly £1000 on a motherboard and go buy a PRIME or TUF series instead and live happily ever after. However, after doing that for a few generations, and seeing the performance here today, I think I’d just b-line right to the PRIME X670E-PRO WIFI as it is one of the best performing and one of the most consistent motherboards we’ve tested.

Enthusiast Ready

In terms of features, it’s ticking all the right boxes for 99% of PC users and enthusiasts. For starters, you get the latest PCIe 5.0 and 4.0 for graphics and storage, as well as DDR5 memory support, so you’re going to be able to get the most out of the latest and greatest hardware.

VRM

While the VRM and heatsink configuration pales in comparison to the STRIX series, it’s clearly more than enough for a gaming PC build, with the CPU able to hit consistent boost clocks, and there are no bottlenecks in the storage, memory of graphics performance, resulting in some consistent and extremely competitive benchmarks throughout this entire review.

Connectivity

Overall connectivity is awesome too, with the latest WiFi 6E and 2.5G LAN, plenty of ultrafast USB on the rear I/O and good front panel support, and fantastic audio hardware too. Really, there are loads of great features here.

Should I Buy One?

If you want a really well-made, stylish and unique-looking motherboard that can deliver enthusiast-grade performance and connectivity at an extremely competitive price, then look no further. The ASUS PRIME X670E-PRO WIFI is a masterclass in how to make a really great motherboard.
