A Closer Look
A reference design is used on this card with a plastic casing spanning the length of the card with simple graphics along it. The Asus logo is embossed in the bottom left corner whilst the fan is situated towards the end of the card and sports the AMD Radeon Graphics logo.
The underside shows a slightly different look to most cards as it has a metal base covering the PCB, whilst the X-style clamp can be seen giving the GPU core sufficient ventilation.
As with most cards these days, especially of the higher spec nature, you will find that they take up two expansion slots in your case, and this card is no different.
The card requires two 6-pin PCI-Express power connectors, which are situated in a prime location at the top of the card to give easy access to the connectors from your power supply.
Following along the top of the card is where the CrossFireX connectors can be seen, if you’d like to use a multiple graphics card configuration. Next to these connectors is the toggle for switching between the two installed BIOSes.
The card has two DVI ports, a HDMI port 1.4a port and two DisplayPort 1.2 connectors. It is worth noting that being an AMD based card, we do have the ability to connect up to six monitors in an AMD EyeFinity multi-display configuration.
