With the card out of the box, its hard to depict this apart from any other DirectCU II topped board that Asus have given us. The oversized heat sink that overhangs the end of the PCB is topped with two 70mm fans and together with the twin heat pipes offer upto 20% better cooling performance.
Another feature that has become synonymous with Asus design is the reverse mounted power connector on the end of the PCB that faces the locking catch away from the heat sink rather than towards it, making removal far easier later on.
Display outputs come with a standard array of options with both single and dual link DVI, HDMI and a full sized DisplayPort. Nestled in and around the display outputs is plenty of ventilation to dissipate heat away from the card.
Asus are one of a few manufacturers that not only over clock the core on their OC range, but also the memory as well. Consequently we find a core clock of 1075MHz (up 75MHz) and a memory clock of 1600MHz (up 100MHz). We’ll find out later on he far we can take this on a board that we know has the potential to give that bit more.
