ASUS Republic of Gamers gaming desktop system pictured

The ASUS Republic of Gamers brand name represents the premium enthusiast branch of ASUS, aimed at high end gamers who either want to build a system from the most premium and carefully designed hardware or in this case want a pre built system to incredibly high standards. Here are some of the first pictures you will have seen on the new ROG CG8565 gaming desktop system and aesthetically it definitely looks like something to rival an Alienware system. The case has a very striking design, but behind that front panel is a lot of functionality:

You get front panel USB 2.0 and 3.0, a multi-card reader, a DVD-RW and BluRay ROM drive and a hot swappable 3.5″ bay for any hard drives you might want to connect. When the system is powered up you also get a well lit ROG logo on the front of the case. The hardware specifications are impressive as you might expect:

  • i7 2600K processor with a present 4.4GHz or 4.6GHz depending on which one you choose.
  • GTX 590 video card.
  • ROG Maximus IV Extreme motherboard.
  • 16GB 1600MHz dual channel DDR3 RAM.
  • Two 80GB SSDs in RAID 0 for the Windows 7 64bit operating system.
  • Two 1TB hard drives for storage which are available to run in RAID.
The all important pricing information is yet to be released which is disappointing but this is not an official release just yet.
