ASUS have revealed their new Prime B350M-E motherboard. It’s designed as an entry-level product for those looking to invest in an AM4 CPU/APU. IT comes equipped with the AMD B350 chipset, which means it’ll support the latest Ryzen processors, and even enable overclocking.
The board uses a fairly standard 24-pin and 8-pin power connection, which runs through a 6-phase VRM. There are two DDR4 DIMMs slots, with support for up to 32GB (dual-channel) memory. There’s just one PCI 3.0 x16 slot, which comes with some lovely armour, and there are two x1 slots also.
“ASUS Prime is the next evolution of the ASUS motherboard, born of a pedigree that stretches back to 1989. Our team of world-class engineers are passionate about empowering everyone to enjoy the benefits of customisation and tuning, and the driving force behind the development of Prime is to make advanced enthusiast controls easily accessible – maximising performance, stability and compatibility for the very best DIY PC experiences. Simply stated: it’s time for Prime.” – ASUS

While the board is a little spartan to look at, but it’s not lacking in features for an entry-level board. Also, it still has an M.2 slot, four 6 Gbps SATA ports, 2 x 10 Gbps USB 3.1 Type-A, and 6 x USB 3.0 (four on back and two via header). DVI, D-Sub and HDMI are all onboard, although they’ll require a CPU/APU with an iGPU. Finally, there’s also Gigabit Ethernet, 6-channel audio, red LED lighting, and headers for RGB hardware to be connected.
While there is no word on price at the moment, we’re certain it’ll be revealed very soon. Finally, for more information, check out the ASUS website.
