Back in September, ASUS took over the NUC product line from Intel prompting the beginning of a new era for the mini PCs backed by the power and expertise of ASUS. Now ASUS are best known for their ROG line of high powered gaming products and generally they tend to do things properly or overdo things, looking at you Triple Slot ROG Strix RTX 4060. Naturally this means that NUC is going to receive a ROG Strix model designed for gaming and now that has been revealed at CES.
ASUS’s new ROG Strix NUC is a powerhouse within a tiny form factor of just 2.5-litres, featuring up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor with 16 cores and 22 threads and a 45W TDP and 65W boost TDP. Paired up with this CPU to provide the gaming performance is the RTX 4070 or RTX 4060 laptop GPUs which are low power and better suited for the smaller chassis boosting up to 140W. The system also has support for up to four 4K monitors so can be well suited for more than just gaming.
Alongside this is 5600 MHz LPDDR5 memory which can be easily changed thanks to the tool-less design of the chassis which also allows for access to the storage, which hasn’t been explicitly mentioned, but we can safely assume will include an NVME drive.
ASUS unfortunately did not reveal any pricing details or a release date but further information should come over the next several weeks.
You can watch the full CES reveal event below, the ROG NUC is covered from 39:51.
