ASUS has revealed its new ROG Swift OLED super ultrawide gaming monitor at Computex 2023
ASUS’s new ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD is a 49-inch super ultrawide display with a 5120×1440 resolution providing you with all of the desktop real estate of two separate 16:9 1440p displays. The OLED panel that the display uses features an 1800R curvature to display around the periphery of your vision making it more comfortable and ensuring the colours are clear and bright even at the sides of the display. This QD-OLED panel also features true 10-bit colour and 99% DCI-P3 colour gamut providing stunning lifelike colours as well as inky blacks. For gamers, it has a 144Hz refresh rate with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and a very low 0.03ms response time.
OLED panels can generate a lot of heat meaning ASUS has put their expertise in cooling to the test to ensure that this monitor remains cool, isn’t affected by burn-in and lasts a long time. Behind the panel is a graphene film to dissipate the heat effectively and silently. Graphene is the thinnest yet strongest nanomaterial in the world with a thermal conductivity coefficient of up to 5,300 W/mk much higher than the potential that silver, copper, gold or aluminium can offer. Thanks to this cooling method the display can reach a peak brightness of 1000 nits with HDR on.
The ROG Swift OLED features an easy-to-access joystick that lets you quickly adjust your display settings. Sometimes even this method can be annoying to control and thats where the ASUS DisplayWidget Center app comes in. This app allows you to change your GameVisual mode, add a crosshair or FPS counter, and much more, all through an intuitive interface. The DisplayWidget Center app also lets you quickly access options that help you maintain the health of your OLED display.
The ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD rounds out the ASUS’ OLED gaming monitor selection with a super-ultra-wide display that’s ready for centre stage. To learn more about the pricing and availability of the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD in your region, please contact your local ROG representative.
