Final Thoughts

Price

At the time of writing, the ASUS RoG Gladius II is available on Amazon for just £89.99 (81.72 on sale), which isn’t cheap but is certainly competitive given the flawless performance and premium build quality. This puts it in the same price range as the Logitech G900, MadCatz RAT8, SteelSeries Rival 700, and the Mionix Naos QG, all incredible mice in their own respect, but all wildly different in terms of ergonomics and features, so it’s more down to personal taste, as they’re all solid performers.

Overview

The latest gaming mouse from ASUS RoG certainly leaves me impressed. It’s not as crazy as some of the mice in this price range, which can often feature many more buttons, wireless features, even an OLED screen, but that’s perfectly fine, as I prefer something that’s a little more focused on the job. The overall build quality is certainly a standout feature here, as the mouse has a robust yet lightweight feel, and it looks and feels like a quality product to hold and use day-to-day. The inclusion of removable cables, with two included in the box, certainly adds to the modular design, as you can pick the one that best suits your usage.

Of course, modular cables are just the tip of the iceberg here, as this mouse also comes with swappable switches. We’ve seen this on mice before, and it’s a feature I’m always very happy to see. You can buy switches online very easily and they only take a few minutes to swap out. This means you can tailor the performance and response to suit your preferences, and it also means that should a switch ever fail from extensive use, you can simply install a new one for a fraction of the price of replacing the whole mouse.

The performance is exactly what you would expect of a mouse that costs nearly £100, it’s absolutely flawless. It’s hard to find a gaming mouse that doesn’t have a great sensor these days, but the Gladius II can mix it with the best on the market, no doubt about that. If you play a lot of competitive games, or you do a lot of work that requires a steady hand in Photoshop, you’ll be more than happy with the silky smooth readout from this mouse.

Overall, it’s great for day-to-day work, and it’s very comfortable to hold for extended use. With fully programmable buttons, a powerful macro editor, and sensor tuning, it’s excellent for gaming too, so no matter what you throw at it, it’ll be able to keep up.

Pros

  • Durable build quality
  • Removable cables
  • Modular switches
  • Flawless sensor performance
  • Durable rubber side grips
  • Sniper button
  • Macro engine
  • RGB lighting

Cons

  • None

“If you’re looking for a mouse that can be easily configured to suit your needs, that offers flawless performance in any task, then the ASUS RoG Gladius II is a great looking and reliable choice worthy of your investment.”
