ASUS has been showing off the latest and greatest in its Republic of Gamers line at CeBit. The Maximus V Formula motherboard is an Ivy Bridge, Z77 and LGA 1155 motherboard with a twist. Overclocking is dependent on strong VRM and ASUS has recognised this by implementing water cooling capabilities into the heatsink which allows users to water cool their VRM components. The 12 phase Digi+ VRM takes a 24pin motherboard, 4pin ATX and 8pin EPS power connector to power itself. What this means is providing Ivy Bridge chips are highly overclockable then the VRM won’t be a limiting factor as the liquid cooling will make sure you can get the most out of your chip.
