For a high-end motherboard, the Hero has to perform pretty strong. Fortunately for ASUS, it does just that. It scored our fourth highest score in 3DMark, with an impressive 23878. That’s just behind the more expensive Maximus XI Formula, which scored 23878. Unigine score isn’t looking great, but it’s about right and performed within the green zone as far as I’m concerned. The PCMark10 score wasn’t the best for Z390, but again, it’s in the same ballpark as its rivals, so nothing to be concerned about there, but nothing to write home about either. things improved a lot for WPrime though, with a blazing 83.226 seconds to 1024M; almost half a second ahead of the XI Formula.
For stock clocks, it managed something very impressive, our highest single core performance in Cinebench. An impressive 219 on a single core, and an equally impressive 2071 on all cores. This reflected in the Handbrake 4K video conversion also, where it reached 75.1 FPS, the second highest score we’ve ever had. However, both the XI Formula, and the C9Z390 both scored identically in this test.
