ASUS RoG PUGIO II Wireless Gaming Mouse Review

How Much Does it Cost?

Prices are a little tricky right now, as stock issues plague the industry (and many others). However, we can see that the original Pugio is still available from ASUS for £69.99/$83 and this model appears to be around £99. However, check for the latest Pugio II UK prices here and US prices here.

Overview

This is a really brilliant mouse, and I’m sure that anyone that purchases it will be extremely happy with it. However, I’ll admit that it’s not a mouse for everyone. It’s not the most complex and feature-packed gaming mouse out there for this kind of money. However, it’s extremely well made and features some clever engineering and design aspects that help make it one of the best wireless gaming mice in its class.

Performance

The most important aspect of any peripheral is performance, and the ROG Pugio II excels in all aspects. With ultra-low-latency wireless technology, or the handy USB Type-C option, you’ll never have to compromise. The battery life is pushing 100 hours, and the sensor, RGB, and switches are as good as you could ask for.

Unique

The mouse is pretty bland at first glance, but it hides so many secrets too. It takes a moment to realise it’s slightly transparent, showing off a more technical design below the smoother exterior, which is really cool. Plus, even the RGB is tucked out of the way, so the light diffuses through the case, rather than being on the surface. I also like how the dongle can be stored inside the mouse, so you shouldn’t lose it. However, it’s the swappable switch tech that I love the most. You can order up your favourite switches, drop them in, and you’re good to go.

Should I Buy One?

I’ll admit, this is an expensive mouse. However, you’re paying for a quality product with some interesting customisation features and a good range of connectivity options. It’s nice to see something this focused on performance and that’s also ambidextrous and wireless, it’s a really solid all-rounder.
