ASUS RoG STRIX Impact II Gaming Mouse Review

How Much Does it Cost?
The ASUS RoG STRIX Impact II Gaming Mouse is available right now from most major retailers. However, we found it on Amazon UK for just £57. Stock in the US doesn’t seem to be available just yet, but you can keep an eye out for prices on Amazon US here. That’s a pretty good price, not overly expensive, not a particularly great deal either, but it certainly feels more than fair for what you’re getting.
Overview
I really liked the original ASUS ROG STRIX Impact gaming mouse, albeit I never actually reviewed it on eTeknix, but I have played with one a few times. However, just about everything on the STRIX Impact II is an improvement, and that’s great. If I’m honest, I’m not 100% sure why the even called this the Impact II, as it’s so different it doesn’t feel so much like the second of something, but more a whole new product, if that makes sense.
Build Quality
ASUS doesn’t make garbage, they just don’t. Their brand is a premium one and even their more affordable stuff is typically more premium than most. I think you do pay a little more for that, but again it doesn’t feel like a rip-off, as you’re actually getting what you pay for. The same is true with this mouse, maybe a little more expensive than rivals, but you get things like swappable switch mounts, which are very much a premium feature.
Performance
The mouse is a great work and gaming mouse, and it’s basically the sum of its parts. They’ve thrown a great sensor, premium switches, and really dialled it all in quite nicely. I do recommend you download the software to set up your button configurations and DPI stuff, but after that, you likely won’t need to load the software again as it all saves directly to the mouse.
Should I Buy One?
There’s a lot of cool features on this mouse, such as the slightly transparent body, the individually sprung LMB/RMB, hot-swappable switches, and so on. It all adds up to a really balanced and very nice mouse. It looks great, it feels great and the performance was flawless, what’s not to love about that!?
