ASUS RoG STRIX RTX 2080 Ti Graphics Card Review

Power Consumption, Temperatures & Acoustics
Power Consumption
The RTx 2080 Ti is a power hungry card, but the ASUS is actually using just a tiny bit less power than the Aorus card. For the most part, its performance was about on par or a fraction behind, so this is certainly reflective of that.
Temperatures
The big cooler is also doing a great job, as it’s the maxing out at just 75C vs the Aorus’s 76c. It could be better, but I’m happy with the temperatures, given the sheer brutality of the performance on offer here.
Acoustics
Even more impressive are the acoustics, easily matching that of the equally big Aorus RTX 2080 Ti and far from noisy. The triple fan design is clearly doing a great job. You could easily increase the RPM for better temperatures if you wanted to.
Overclocking
These flagship cards are already dialled up pretty high right from the factory, so there’s rarely much room for overclocking. However, we managed to squeeze about another 3% out of the card. That’s not much, but it’s still enough to give us a few extra frames for a relatively small increase in both power and thermal performance. Of course, each card will vary, but free performance is nothing to be sniffed at.
