3DMark Firestrike

As the ASUS Scar III has some pretty impressive specifications, we were not surprised to see the laptop perform so well in our Firestrike testing. Getting into the top third of our results, it scored a highly impressive 15060.

Unigine Superposition 1080p Extreme

With Unigine Superposition putting a focus on the graphic performance, the Nvidia RTX 2070 clearly stands out as an excellent graphics cards for this system. While this is, of course, the mobile (laptop) version, it is still remarkably impressive in testing. Particularly when combined with that huge amount of RAM (32GB) and strong processor at its disposal.

PCMark 10

In truth, while the PCMark 10 benchmark results were still impressive, they were not quite as high as we might have expected. For reasons we can’t determine, it just seemed that this laptop wasn’t entirely happy with the PCMark 10 test. It does sit within the similar processor score range seen in many competing systems, but in truth, we had anticipated a score much higher than 4468. This is, however, still a remarkably high result.

WPrime 32m and 1024m

We’re back on target with the WPrime score as the ASUS Scar III scored remarkably high results. A factor, again, no doubt helped by this systems excellent specifications.

Cinebench R15

Testing both single and multiple core image rendering, the Intel 9880H proves that it is a monster when it comes to its processing power. Cracking the top 4 of our list is very impressive for what is, remember, the laptop version of the Intel processor.

Handbrake MP4 to MKV Conversion 4K

You are not necessarily going to buy a laptop to perform your video conversions on. Then again, with streaming becoming more popular, why wouldn’t you? With a conversion rate of 47.3 frames per second, the ASUS Scar III is a lot faster than you might have expected.

While video editing is clearly not the most obvious strong suit for this laptop, such figures certainly don’t rule it out as a more than practical option either.
