Storage

The particular model we tested (the G531GW) comes provided with a 1TB NVMe SSD. This should provide more than enough storage space for the average gamer and any files you install onto the system. As the only drive in the laptop, it is nice to see a large capacity option used. Admittedly, the lack of a standard HDD is perhaps a little disappointing. Particularly if you play a lot of high-storage games (such as Forza Horizon 4 or World of Warcraft). That being said, however, the NVMe SSD it is provided with has a more than large enough capacity for the average gamers and provides surprisingly excellent acceptable write/read speeds.

In terms of speeds, however, the ASUS Scar III is blisteringly fast. With read/write SSD speeds above 3000, this is, by way and away, one of the fastest systems we have encountered.

Although it isn’t necessarily highlighted in these results either, we should note that the boot-up time for the laptop is amazingly fast. From cold to running, this takes about 8-10 seconds. Pretty impressive stuff!
