ASUS ROG STRIX X299-E Gaming Motherboard Review

Introduction

ASUS ROG STRIX X299-E Gaming

The latest X299 chipset motherboards are finally here, bringing with them support for the latest Intel Skylake-X processors! Of course, this means the latest 10-core i9-7900X (review) is supported, as well as the upcoming models with even more cores.

The X299-E Gaming motherboard from ASUS is a high-end gaming motherboard, priced at around £300. That’s not cheap, but it’s about mid-range for the current crop of X299 boards that run up to £500 for the enthusiast models. Of course, it’s not exactly spartan on features at this price range, and you’ll find robust overclocking, RGB lighting, M.2 storage, and a whole lot more.
