When visually inspecting the GM501GS, you may recall that we highlighted that cooling did appear to be a factor in the design. We were, however, slightly concerned with the seeming lack of intake vents. Upon testing both the CPU and GPU were amongst some of the higher end results we have seen, but they are still more than within acceptable levels. It, therefore, seems that the cooling solutions they have applied here clearly work.

When we reviewed the Gl703G, it was the noisest laptop we had encountered to date. As such, with the GM501GS sharing such similar specifications, we were concerned that this again would fall into that category. Fortunately, it did not. While it is certainly one of the noisier entries, it’s largely consistent with that we have come to expect from laptops.

As above though, I can not help but feel that a few more vents to the base of the laptop might not have gone amiss. This, despite the very clever raising design element of the rear portion of the base.
