Around 3-4 weeks ago ASUS released a wave of BIOS updates believed to add Ivy Bridge-E support to LGA 2011 socket and X79 chipset motherboards. Today ASUS has rolled out another set of updates believed to further improve and tweak the Ivy Bridge-E compatibility of their current LGA 2011 motherboards.
These updates can be applied to your motherboard using either a Sandy Bridge-E LGA 2011 processor or by using the ASUS USB BIOS flashback tool if you are missing an LGA 2011 SB-E processors.
For the “mainstream” P9X79 series support for Ivy Bridge-E comes with BIOS version 4301. This is applicable for the P9X79 LE, P9X79, P9X79 Pro, and P9X79 Deluxe. For the ROG series motherboards BIOS 4401 deals with the ROG Rampage IV Extreme and Rampage IV Gene while 4402 deals with the ROG Rampage VI Formula. The TUF Sabertooth X79 motherboards is updated with version 4309.
The updates are not available on the ASUS site just yet, but TechpowerUp provided a download link to the BIOS files here.
