Asus Sabertooth X79 Motherboard Preview

The front of the box looks exactly how the other range of TUF boards look with the P67 and 990FX. The box is fairly simple with the TUF colouring and 5 year warranty being shown including the fact that this board is PCIe 3.0 ready.
From what we’ve come to expect from Asus packaging, the front panel flaps open to reveal the key features including the new thermal system that’s in place, DIGI+ power control and the TUF components that has made the Sabertooth range of boards famous.
There is also more information below including the addition of the new Asus SSD caching, USB 3.0 boost and USB BIOS flashback. All fantastic new features that are exclusive to Asus boards and give an upper hand on the competition.
Turning the box over reveals the same features being talked about again and a full specification table, which we will explain in more detail as we go around the various aspects of the board.
Included accessores come in the form of a rear I/O panel, user guide, installation disc (not original due to being a pre-production sample), certificate of reliability and a guide on how to install the new LGA2011 CPU’s but we can’t go into that.
There are also six right-angled SATA cables, two Asus Q Connectors, a very small SLI bridge and a fan, which we will discuss further on.
