The Sabertooth X79 is still running the famous Asus UEFI BIOS but has had a slight update in certain areas to provide shortcuts as well as offering further information in regards to your DRAM.
The EZ mode is still included, but is changeable to access the advanced mode too. Once we were in, we were able to see the main screen offering up all of the information on our CPU and speed, memory and speed and of course the BIOS version.
AI Tweaker still looks as we know it, but with a few extra settings which become enabled when you start to tweak the Ai Overclock Tuner settings.
Inside the DIGI+ Power Control options, we find a lot more settings in terms of control, calibration and voltage frequency. This is especially handy to fine-tune your system to get the best stability, especially when pushing your components further than their stock values.
There are also voltage options for each DRAM channel as this board and the X79 chipset supports quad channel memory.
Advanced menus give us more information on our processor and allow us to enable and disable certain features of the processor such as Hyper-threading.
The monitoring aspect of this board shows a lot of settings for the thermal features, fan speeds and control over various cooling functions of the board.
One of the new features of the BIOS is the SPD information for your memory. This menu allows you to choose your memory module and slot that it’s installed into and find the relevant DRAM information including timing control.
