ASUS STRIX AMD RX560 Graphics Card Review

Final Thoughts
How Much Does it Cost?
Priced at just £148.10 the ASUS RX560 STRIX 4GB Gaming Graphics Card is certainly affordable. A GTX 1050 typically costs about £10 less and performs just as well, but typically lack the nice design and cooler of the ASUS STRIX. If you wanted something like the 1050 Ti with a similar specification cooler, you can be looking at £170+, which may be out of your budget if you’re already shopping for something affordable. Regardless, price to performance seems to fit nicely in the market against other AMD and Nvidia solutions.
Overview
I love this little card, and while it seems weird to praise the card that sat pretty much at the bottom of our performance charts, I will. It’s easy to glance over the charts and forget that we’ve tested some of the greatest GPUs on the market, and this was never likely to come closer to them. However, it’s more than capable of hitting 60 FPS in the later graphics intensive games, albeit with medium graphics settings, and maybe cutting out a few tweaks to the shadow details. For those spending so little on a GPU, to get that kind of performance is pretty damn impressive. Not everyone needs a VEGA 64 or GTX 1080 or above, not everyone can afford it, but you can still play the latest games at a respectable resolution.
Build Quality
ASUS really knocked it out of the park here. No detail was spared on this card, and it looks just as sexy as their premium models. The STRIX cool is stylish, but also functional, and provides great cooling performance at low noise levels. Of course, this chipset isn’t exactly demanding to cool, so the big cooler doesn’t have to work too hard regardless. Compared to something like the ASUS Nvidia 1050, you can see this is a world apart in style for the same money.
Low-Cost Gaming
Big GPU heavy titles are one thing, but if you love the MOBA, BattleRoyale, MMO games and more, they’re typically less demanding on the GPU than AAA shooters and adventure games. This card is very well suited to games like Fortnite, LoL, DOTA II, CS:GO and other eSport friendly titles. For those looking to get into PC gaming for the first time, a lot of those type of games can even be played for free!
Should I Buy One?
As above, if you’re looking to get into your first gaming PC, but you only have console-like budgets, this is a great starting point. From upgrading an older PC or building your first one without spending thousands, this is where you should start. For under £150, you’ll be pushed to find a better looking, performance, and better-made card than the RX560 STRIX from ASUS.
