Rather surprisingly for a GameWorks title, the ASUS STRIX GAMING GTX 1060 OC cannot surpass its nearest rival. However, the average frame-rate doesn’t tell the entire story as the minimum figure is much lower on the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 480 OC. To clarify these results, I re-ran the benchmark and experienced similar numbers. While the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 480 OC posts a higher average, the experience is more jarring.
Thankfully, the situation improves when running the benchmarks on a 1440p monitor and the data is reflective of what I’d expect. Once again, the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 480 OC offers fantastic performance and maintains its lead over the ASUS STRIX GAMING GTX 1060 OC.
Despite not being intended for 4K games, the graphics card can achieve a decent 30 frames-per-second experience on the Ultra preset.
