Noise
During idle usage scenarios such as light gaming, web browsing and other low-end tasks, the graphics card’s fans turn off completely which contributes towards a silent desktop experience. Under load, the noise output is extremely quiet for a triple fan cooling solution and doesn’t become a distraction. Even though the XFX RX 480 GTR Black Edition is quieter, the noise levels are ample for most setups and a great attribute.
Power Consumption
The graphics card is really efficient and doesn’t add a great deal to the total power draw. Granted, the power demands are higher than the GTX 1060 but it’s not by a huge amount. Therefore, the product is suitable for those who are concerned about the running costs of hardware.
Temperatures
ASUS’ DirectCU III cooling apparatus is superb and keeps the core temperature running remarkably cool. As you can see, the average load reading was 64C which is well under the chip’s theoretical maximum. Also, the GPU’s thermals are better than the XFX custom model by a few degrees.
