ASUS has begun to bundle standard copies of Battlefield 3 along with a Battlefield 3 patterned lanyard with certain ASUS products. The GTX 560Ti DirectCUII TOP is the selected graphics card which gets a nice lift from the introduction of a free digital download of Battlefield 3, this is to amplify the point that the factory overclocked ASUS GTX56oTi is Battlefield 3 ready. The Battlefield 3 coupon can only be redeemed using EA’s origin program.
The GTX 560Ti Direct CU II TOP will allow you to play Battlefield 3 in 1080p with close to maximum detail and processing settings turned on. It is overclocked right out of the box to give it more performance coming with a 900 MHz engine clock (up from reference speeds of 820 MHz) and an effective memory clock of 4.2GHz across 1GB of GDDR5 VRAM. Note this GTX 560Ti is formed from the GF 114 chip which has 384 cores not the newer version which packs 448 cores on a GF 110 chip. ASUS claims the Direct CU II cooler reduces noise by up to 20% over the reference cooler.
The soundcard which comes equipped with Battlefield 3 is the Xonar D2X which is based off the ASUS AV200 audio processor (C-Media CMI8788 OxygenHD derivative) with four TI Burr-Brown PCM1796 output DACs (total of 8 channels), and Cirrus-Logic CS5381 mic/line input ADC. The signal to noise ratio is 118 dBA. It fits in a standard PCI-E 1X slot and ASUS claims this will give gamers the competitive advantage when hunting down their enemies.
