ASUS’s flagship RTX 4090 ROG MATRIX graphics card was unveiled back in May as the fastest RTX 4090 available using the highest binned GPU dies. This powerful GPU has today had its release date revealed by ASUS.
The release date of this card was shared by ASUS on Twitter as September 19th which will be accompanied by a live stream unboxing of the card from ASUS themselves. This card has already been used to achieve major overclocking records including the 4.0GHz barrier which was broken by Splave using liquid nitrogen as opposed to the 360mm AIO liquid cooler that the card comes with.
The cooling solution of this card aside from looking very pretty, uses a custom cold plate for the GPU die, VRM and memory chips alongside the use of liquid metal instead of thermal paste. This liquid metal has supposedly warranted extra care in the design to allow the GPU to be installed vertically without any spillage issues. This involves UV-resin around the GPU die and two protective layers between the die and PCB.
Currently there is no pricing available but all will be revealed on the launch day September 19th at 9:00am New York and 9:00PM Taipei which is 13:00 UTC.
