Using the router that came with your internet subscription is enough for most users. However, if you’re seeking to get that performance edge, there’s certainly a lot of hardware out there you can upgrade to. Today, ASUS introduced their new TUF Gaming AX3000 V2 wireless router. If you’re eager to take your wired and wireless speeds to the next level, this will certainly get you there.
The router runs on the latest WiFi 6 technology, which promises ultra-fast performance, delivering up to 2.4 Gbps on the 5 GHz band, and up to 576 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band. That’s roughly 3 Gbps, hence the AX 3000 product name.
When you’re plugged in, you can benefit from the 2.5 GbE WAN port as well as four 1 GbE LAN ports. However, two ports can also be aggregated into a 2 Gbps port should the system or storage device have two 1 GbE ports.
Additionally, there’s also a USB 3.x Type-A port, allowing you to add a USB device as mass storage to your network, a USB printer, or WPA3 security hardware.
Of course, this being a TUF Gaming product, it’s built more robustly than most of its rivals. TUF really does mean TOUGH after all. There are multi-level heatsinks, featuring a nano-carbon coating, and it also has that TUF Gaming black with yellow design, which looks great.
Unfortunately, ASUS hasn’t revealed the price just yet, but we’ll keep you posted as soon as we know more.
