Software Overview

So the manufacturer’s point of difference is not only the components it uses, but also what it can offer the user during day to day use. ASUS, like others, offer many different programs for you to choose from once set up which can help to make your life a little easier. Usually these programs are useless, offering bloatware or some pretty pointless programs that you wouldn’t normally download. ASUS used to be the same, but have now changed and have tuned their software to be extremely useful.

First off, when installing the ASUS drivers, you are presented by ASUS HomeCloud Server. It does exactly what it says, it allows you to access a cloud storage server with any technology that has the app installed.

AI Suite3 is the newest version on offer from ASUS. It hosts a multitude of excellent features that give you a simple breakdown of some more challenging features. Such as EZ update, this feature allows you to update the BIOS without having to mess around with additional USB drives or worrying if it will turn on again. I won’t cover much more of this as it has been covered many times in the past.

Now onto the TUF oriented part of the software. This is only available on TUF series motherboards due to the additional features needed to allow it to work. This software digs deeper into the hardware monitoring that any other manufacturer offered software I’ve seen before. Monitoring multiple temperature spots on the motherboard and allowing the monitoring of three additional thermistor probes. Along with that, you get more detail fan control and hardware monitoring.

Along with all these features, you can also download an addition application to your android smart phone. It can remotely turn on, restart, clear CMOS, view voltages and live system clock speeds.
