Asus Unveils Its MG278Q Gaming Monitor

If you’re in the market for a premium gaming monitor that offers lightning fast response times as well as support for AMD’s FreeSync technology, then you should probably have a look at the new MG278Q gaming monitor by ASUS. This is a 27-inch widescreen-quad-high-definition display that was designed specifically with gaming in mind, which is why it boasts a response time of 1 ms as well as a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Aside from supporting AMD’s FreeSync, this new ASUS product also impresses with Flicker-Free and Ultra-Low Blue Light technologies that provide protection for the user’s eyes during prolonged gaming sessions.

The MG278Q comes with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and features a pixel density of 109 pixels per inch. Its refresh rate and response times ensure that ghosting, motion blur and smearing are completely out of the question, while FreeSync guarantees very smooth gameplay sessions with no screen tearing or stuttering. Other highlights include an ASUS-exclusive GamePlus hotkey that enables an FPS counter, timer functions and a crosshair overlay. There are six preset display modes available for the MG278Q, namely Scenery, Racing, Cinema, RTS/RPG, FPS and sRGB.

Connectivity options include two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort 1.2 and one dual-link DVI port. There are also two USB 3.0 ports available that can be used to charge up mobile devices. The ASUS MG278Q is set to become available for purchase in September in North America, but Asian and European gamers will be able to get their hands on it in August.
